Training Courses for Q1

Safety Boat Training Course over 2 days for January 14th and 15th 2023.

The Course will start at 09:00 until 16:00.


Previous Experience:

  • A minimum of a RYA Powerboat level 2 is required This is an introduction to the techniques used by Powerboats escorting fleets of dinghies, providing safety cover for sailing boats and assisting in race management.

  • Candidates should be proficient and experienced drivers with skills for drivers of escort craft, safety boats, coach boats and racing and training activities.

Maximum of six people.


 

RYA Power Boat 1 & 2 - 11th 12th February 2023

Second course 11th-12th March 2023


Required experience:


  • None. May be preceded by Level 1 Start Powerboating

  • Minimum duration 2 days

  • Minimum age 12 (candidates under the age of 16 will be issued with an endorsed certificate)

  • Content Launching and recovery, boat handling, securing to a buoy, anchoring, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard

  • Certificate issuing criteria

  • Self-sufficient powerboater in the right conditions, aware of own limitations and those of the craft

  • Format: Predominantly practical but with some classroom elements.


 

Sailing Level 3 - 25th - 26th February 2023


The RYA Level 3 adult sailing course content includes:

  • Rigging and sail controls for weather and sea states

  • Coming alongside pontoons

  • Returning to shore

  • Sailing more efficiently with the five essentials

  • Tell tales,

  • Man overboard

  • Rules of the road

  • More in-depth meteorology

  • Some tasters into the next advanced ...
